Foresters Guest House

We are delighted that The Foresters House has been awarded GOLD for hospitality and service by Visit Scotland.

The Foresters House is an ideal touring base for Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Loch Lomond, The Burns Country, Ayr and the Clyde coast.

Situated in the quiet conservation village of Inverkip, ten minutes from Greenock and Gourock, the house is also only ten minutes from the ferries to Bute, Dunoon and Argyll. Inverkip has it's own rail station, which has direct links to Glasgow Central Station.

The house previously occupied by the Head Forester of Ardgowan Estates has been carefully modernised to retain its old charm and provide a high standard of accommodation.

Inverkip is a quiet consevation village which lies at the mouth of the river Kip, forming the eastern coastline of the Firth of Clyde. Greenock and Gourock are only two miles from the village.

The village has three very good restaurants, all within easy walking distance.  The Innerkip restaurant in the Inverkip Hotel and Bongios cafe restaurant are less than a five minute walk , whilst The Chartroom restaurant, which is located in Inverkip Marina is less than ten minutes walk from the house.

The history of Inverkip stretches back at least 830 years. The first church in Scotland was built in Inverkip in 1188.
