Discover Inverclyde is launching a special 'Taste of Inverclyde' weekend which will take place in Inverclyde centring on the four day period from 10th to 13th September.

In this the Year of Food and Drink in Scotland, the promotion will offer Inverclyde residents and those from further afield the opportunity of sampling the wide range of food and drink on offer at Inverclyde restaurants, food shops, coffee shops, cafes and bars, with special promotions, discounts and other offers over the four day period. In addition there will be opportunities for people to come and watch in how food is made in Inverclyde at a range of businesses including butchers and bakeries. By holding this special event in conjunction with the annual Festival of Sport fortnight organised by Sport Inverclyde and the Doors Open Days weekend event arranged by Inverclyde Council, people will also be able to sample a wide range of sports on a free 'Come and Try' basis and also taste some of Inverclyde's rich history and architecture. Other special offers over the period are being developed for leisure and the arts to encourage participation and enjoyment in these areas.

Leaflets and posters outlining all the special offers will be available and special vouchers will appear in the Greenock Telegraph who are supporting and promoting the event.

Information is being sent to a wide range or organisations and individuals beyond the local area to encourage visits to Inverclyde over the promotional period and beyond.
